Understanding the shape of your balcony
Each balcony has its particularities, but most are designed according to common principles, dictated by architectural standards and technical constraints. These similarities make it easier to adapt security and design solutions while taking into account subtle differences in their structure.
1. Linear balcony
- A single long balcony shared by several dwellings, often delimited by separators (opaque, glazed or mesh panels).
- Common in collective residences.
2. Square or L-shaped balcony
- Balcony located at the corner of the building, shared between the two spaces with an angular separation.
- Offers a different view for each accommodation or living room.
3. Half-level or U-shaped balcony
- Each accommodation has a slightly offset balcony, but the spaces remain adjacent and visible.
- Reduces the effect of crowding while providing a similar view.
Determine the structure of the guardrail
Balcony railings come in a variety of shapes and styles, depending on the materials used and architectural choices. Here are the most common types:
- Railings with vertical bars
Made up of metal or wooden bars, aligned vertically.
- Glass railings
Made up of glass panels, often framed by metal or wooden uprights
- Openwork or perforated railings
Made with solid materials (metal, concrete or wood) with cut or perforated patterns.
- Rounded railings
Characterized by round or semi-rounded metal or wooden uprights or frames.
- Full railings
Made of a single, opaque material (concrete, metal or wood).
These styles adapt to different contexts, depending on local regulations and aesthetic preferences. It is important to check the specifications of each type before choosing suitable accessories or security systems.

- Analyze specific needs: If your balcony is exposed to extreme weather conditions (rain, wind, sun), opt for a reinforced pack using the options offered.
- Consult the categories of packs available: The packs are classified according to the total dimension of your guardrail: from 1.5m to 15m.
