The Cat-Lock: the essential part of our solution
The size of the Cat-Lock is: W: 40mm x L: 60mm
The Cat-Lock plays a key role in the Catsafe system, supporting the tension of the Cat-Line rope along the entire length of the railing. Due to this load, it is essential to install it correctly to ensure reliability.
Important points:
- Tension management: The longer the guardrail, the greater the tension required.
When installing, start by applying moderate tension to allow the adhesive to adhere well to the substrate. This reduces the risk of premature detachment.
- Surface preparation: For better adhesion of the adhesive, it is strongly recommended to use a Primer before attaching the Cat-Lock. This optimizes fixation, even on demanding surfaces.
- Environment and weather: Adhesive performance may vary depending on climatic conditions (humidity, extreme temperatures).
Allow time for the adhesive to adapt before applying maximum tension.
By following these recommendations, the Cat-Lock guarantees a durable and secure installation to effectively protect your cat.
Compatible Kits

Precautions for using Cat-Lock?
The fixation of the Cat-Lock is essential to ensure the safety of your balcony. For this, we use an extremely powerful double-sided adhesive "Cat-Lock-Stickers" capable of withstanding temperature variations ranging from 0°C to over 60°C maximum.
However, temperature variations can be significant and alter the physical properties of the adhesive. That is why we strongly recommend using the primer "Cat-Prime", which is included in your pack and reserved for Cat-Lock but also available on our site.
This product will help you prepare your railing before installing the Cat-Lock and improve the grip of the piece. With this precaution, you can be sure that your balcony protection system will remain securely attached to your railing and withstand the test of time.
In addition, for those with a slatted railing, you can enhance the balcony protection solution with a strap available on our site. This strap called Cat-Strap slides into the specific space of the Cat-Lock, which has a maximum width of 25 mm.
Since the railings are not standardized, there are two sizes of adjustable straps available on our site, referenced under "Cat-strap".

Cat-Lock Installation Tips
The Cat-Lock is designed to support the tension of three ropes over varying lengths, ranging from 1.5 m to 15 m. To ensure optimal installation and preserve the integrity of the guardrails, follow these recommendations:
1. Adhesive adhesion:
- Setting Time: Allow sufficient time for the adhesive to properly adhere to the substrate before applying full tension. This is crucial, whatever the weather conditions.
- Impact of materials: The characteristics of the substrate (metal, glass, wood, etc.) influence the final adhesion. Prepare the surface carefully for best results.
2. Tension progressive :
- Successive steps: Gradually tighten the rope over time. This allows the adhesive to adjust without forcing, limiting the risk of premature detachment.
- Avoid excessive tension: Do not overtighten the ropes. A moderate tension is sufficient to secure the system while respecting an important constraint: do not damage the guardrails.
3. Compliance with installation conditions:
- Temperatures and humidity: Install the Cat-Lock in stable climatic conditions to maximize the effectiveness of the adhesive.
- Regular check: Periodically inspect the attachment points to adjust if necessary.
These steps ensure a durable installation without negative impact on your guardrail, while respecting our customers' trust in the Catsafe solution.
Can the system be used for other needs?
The Cat-Lock can be used to lock any rope from 3 to 4 mm in diameter. This system is not reserved for the Catsafe solution.
